La serie «Game of Thrones» se coronó con un total de 12 galardones, el mayor número jamás registrado en una ceremonia, como la reina de la 67 edición de los premios Emmy que entregó la Academia de la Televisión de los Estados Unidos.
La exitosa serie que se emite por HBO y que ya había copado las candidaturas a los premios Emmy, dedicados a la TV, llegó a la gala con 24 nominaciones y ocho premios en categorías técnicas -entregados la semana pasada y en el Teatro Microsoft de Los Ángeles sumó cuatro más: los de mejor drama, actor de reparto (Peter Dinklage), mejor dirección (David Nutter) y mejor guión (David Benioff y D.B. Weiss).
Otro producto de HBO, «Olive Kitteridge», reclamó el protagonismo con ocho estatuillas -dos técnicas-, entre ellas las de mejor serie limitada, mejor actor (Richard Jenkins) y mejor actriz (Frances McDormand) en el terreno de mejor serie limitada o película para televisión.
Mientras que una de las grandes sorpresas fue la victoria de «Veep» como mejor comedia -premio entregado por el veterano Mel Brooks-, un terreno dominado en las últimas cinco ediciones por «Modern Family».
«Modern Family» aspiraba a su sexto Emmy consecutivo, de modo tal que hubiera superado el récord que comparte junto a «Frasier» en esa categoría, según despacho de EFE.
«Veep», entonces sumó así cinco galardones en la velada, entre ellos los de mejor actriz y mejor actor secundario que fueron a parar a Julia Louis-Dreyfus y Tony Hale, respectivamente. También cinco premios obtuvieron «American Horror Story: Freak Show» y «Transparent».
